Marco Guizar / Founder

I’m from a small town in Colusa County, Grimes, CA. It was a great place to grow up, it taught me that I had to work hard to make it. I spent a few summers working in the fields before I enlisted in the Marine Corps. My enlistment taught me a tremendous amount about life and death. After fighting in Iraq, Fallujah, and Afghanistan I came home to build upon what I had learned.

Fitsom Studios was born in '09. Its evolution has been a great journey of entrepreneurship. I’ve found that I love business and building teams that work together to fulfill a vision.

I once built an iPhone/Android app that completely failed. I dealt with that by learning how to market.

Ultimately, my life goal is to establish 2,000 Fitsoms. Then I can retire.

Katelyn O’Neil / Co-founder

I'm a mom of two amazing boys. I'm also an avid face in the local community, always looking to make new connections with other females doing great things in Curtis Park, and the greater Sacramento Area. Lifting each other up one by one is how we can elevate the entire community!

My professional experience began in the Customer Service industry with Lululemon. There I learned how to interact with clientele and build relationships with people in the wellness field. Fast-forward a bit and I am living with my life partner, helping run his business, Fitsom Studios, and preparing for my first home birth.

I became interested in natural ways of getting through labor and birth and so I dove into meditation and breathing to prepare my mind. After that I knew first hand how important and powerful these tools were for dealing with everyday stress (which birth is not "everyday stress," but if it can get me through natural birth, it can get anyone through anything). Not only has it helped me become a more clear minded, productive person, it has helped me to connect to others on a deeper level. This experience has had strong influence over our philosophy at Fitsom.

Being a mom and running a business has been a challenge to say the least. I've become very involved in the community ever since I became Co-Owner of Fitsom Studios. I thrive off of lifting others up and being around like-minded individuals who are hungry with curiosity and a strong desire to build and create a better environment. I am learning how to find balance in all areas of my life, separating work life from mom life and my personal life (it's a process)! I've found passion in female entrepreneurship and look forward to growing and evolving Fitsom Studios as well as the local Sacramento / Curtis Park Community!

Ken O’Shea / Owner & Wim Hof instructor

I graduated from Cal Poly in 2010 with a bachelor of science in Kinesiology. I am an American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Physiologist. I also am Z-Health certified and a Level 1 Wim Hof Method Instructor.

I’ve always been very active, involved in sports, and found my love for athletics from my father who is an athletic trainer, coach, and teacher. I’m an avid camper, backpacker, skier, soccer player, and have learned to love the cold which isn’t always easy in Sacramento. I started my career doing mostly one on one training sessions in the Bay Area and moved to Sacramento a few years ago.

Over the years I’ve come to realize that most people don’t need more exercise, they need help learning how to deal with the stress and pain they are experiencing from this crazy world we live in. I’ve had my own personal setbacks with stress and sports injuries. My own experiences have driven me to learn even more about how the body and the brain work together and the effects that stress, pain, and anxiety, have on them. I use this information to help teach people how to care for themselves.

John OHanlon / Fitsom Practitioner

What’s up guys! I’m John. I moved back to Sacramento 2 years ago to pursue a career in health and wellness. Shortly after moving, I found Fitsom and was blown away by their unconventional approach towards healing the body and mind.

I teach the Hurts So Good class where we dive into deep releases that help restore proper movement and provide a mental reset! Self myofascial release has become a cornerstone of my daily life and I’m grateful to be a part of spreading the good word!

Deb Panatonni / Massage Practitioner

Hi, I’m Deb. My approach to massage is inspired from Dr. Ida Rolf and Thomas Myers from Anatomy trains. I take a whole body approach to my work and believe that education should be given on and off the table. I collaborate with all the pracitioners to make sure we are getting to the root cause rather than simply working on the symptoms. You can also find me teaching some of the SMR classses at the studio!
